KFO325- Clinical relevance of tumor-stroma interactions in pancreatic carcinoma
Clinical Research Unit 325 "The Clinical Relevance of the Tumor Microenvironment - Interactions in Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma PDAC"
The Marburg Clinical Research Group, which has been funded by the DFG since 2018, has set itself the goal of characterizing the role of stromal cells in pancreatic cancer and deriving new therapeutic approaches from these results for this previously difficult to treat tumor disease. The special focus of the research group is on immune cells, which on the one hand promote tumor growth, but on the other hand have inhibitory effects on tumor development. In addition to basic experiments on animal material and cell lines, studies are also carried out on human tumor samples.
